Obituary

Mildred Elaine Collier, 86, of Lexington passed away January 30, 2018. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Center Hill Church of Christ with Elkins East Chapel assisting the family on Friday February 2, 2018.  Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 PM with funeral following.
Ms. Collier was preceded in death by her husband Hautie Collier, parents Rollie and Birdie Michael, loving daughter Vonda Etheridge, brother, JC Michael (Dorothy) and sister-in- law Betty Michael.  She is survived by sons Dennis Collier (Jackie), David Collier (Debbie), Michael Collier, Mark Collier (Tabby), daughters Cathy McDonald (Ronnie), Rhonda Holden (Terry), son-in-law Randy Etheridge, grandchildren Chris Collier, Keith Collier, Shane McDonald, Kristie Bradley, Jason Collier, Jeremy Collier, Brad Etheridge, Kelli Reding, Alanna Sullivan, Matthew Holden, Savanna Collier, Ava Johnson, 23 great grandchildren, brothers Herbert Michael, Doyce Michael (Glenda) and numerous nieces and nephews. Her grandsons will honor her by serving as pallbearers.

Mildred Collier was a member of the Center Hill Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived her life with a smile on her face and with joy in her heart. She loved God, life, her family and friends. Mildred served as a homemaker, never too tired to ensure her family was well taken care of and fed. Memaws house was always full of food, good times, and laughs. No one ever left hungry. She lived her last two and half years at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. She loved all of the nurses and friends who lived and worked there with her. Even until the end she desired to participate in the activities.  She enjoyed writing poems and songs, singing, and reading her Bible.
The family expresses gratitude to the staff of Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home, Hospice of the Shoals, and Dr. Webb.
