Obituary

Mildred Christine Tidwell age 86, of Killen passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 12 Noon until 1:00pm at Elkins East Chapel. Services will follow at 1:00pm in the Chapel with Stan Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Carl Tidwell, and two brothers; Arnold Lanier and Arlee Lanier.

Mildred is survived by two sons; Glenn Tidwell (Sandra) and Jerry Tidwell (Judy). Four grandchildren; Melanie Herndon (Phil), Suzette Allen (Brian), Kelly Hobbs (Jay) and Haley Brink (Wes). Four great-grandchildren; Carson Hobbs, Hannah Hobbs, Madelyn Brink and Ryder Brink. Five sisters; Mary Hughes, Margie Gist (Glen), Barbara Walton (Harold), Nina Young (Larry) and Faye Logan.

She was a member of Killen Church of Christ for over 60 years and in recent years attended services provided at her assisted living. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure. She was a Mother and Grandmother First. Her family made her heart beat. Cooking and feeding them Sunday lunches for years and years was her favorite thing to do!

Considering it a distinct "HONOR", pallbearers will be her sons Glenn Tidwell and Jerry Tidwell, and her grandson (inlaw) Phil Herndon, Wes Brink, Brian Allen, Jay Hobbs, and her great grandson, Carson Hobbs will be accompanying Mrs. Tidwell to her final resting place.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. Carson Hobbs, Hannah Hobbs, Madelyn Brink and Ryder Brink.

The family would like to express a very special thanks to Cedar View Assisted Living for making her last weeks fun and enjoyable. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Also to Dr. Ricky Irons, Dr. Hisham Baalbaki, Dr. Robert Webb, Dr. Felix Morris and the nurses on 3rd and Palliative Care.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Judes Children''s Hospital or a Charity of your choice
