Mitchell Stevens Florence - Mitchell David Stevens died Saturday, April 6, with his family surrounding him after an extended illness and a long battle with cancer.  He was born in the Cademy community in Tremont MS on May 16, 1938 to Olmus and Ruby Stevens.  He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Francis of 54 years, his son Mark Stevens, daughter, Sandi McGee, along with their spouses Kristie Stevens and Audwin McGee.  His grandchildren are Raeley and Daniel Stevenson, Robert, Jonathan, Cameron , and Avery Stevens, Mareth Poag, and great grandchilden Tuor Stevenson, Ava, Parker, and Charlie Poag.  His is also survived by his sisters Marcelle Maxcy and Ann Miller of Tremont, and many nieces and nephews.  Mitchell was a graduate of Mississippi State University in industrial engineering and retired from Martin Industries. He was an active member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, teaching youth, active in Emmaus walks, and  Kairos prison ministry. He was a Army veteran. He also loved working on his land in Tremont.
Please join us for the celebration Mitchell's life April 13 at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2422 Darby Dr, Florence, AL 35630. Visitation is at 4:00 pm, and the Memorial Service is at 5:00 pm. Immediately following there will be light refreshments as the family continues to visit with you.

Because of the research that has been done for Multiple Myeloma, Mitchell was able to live a longer life, and we hope and pray that more research will allow others to live longer lives with the ones they love.
