Mrs. Myrtle Elizabeth Snoddy Dendy, age 87, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at ECM Hospital.
Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence with the funeral service following at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel. The Rev. Bruce Palmer will officiate. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Dendy was preceded in death by her husband Logan E. Dendy and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Mhoontown United Methodist Church and had enjoyed mission trips with others from the church. Mr. and Mrs. Dendy had enjoyed their trips with the Colbert Chiefs Camping Club.
Myrtle loved her children, their children and all the children she took care of over the years at home, school and church, and her dear cats and dogs.
She is survived by daughters Marcy Buford and husband Mark, Flower Mound, Texas and Mary Canaday and husband Steve, Florence; grandchildren Kasie Ray and husband Mike and Bradley Canaday; great-grandchildren Anabel, Michael and Noah Cater; sister Pat McLoud and husband Ed, Kansas; brother Paul White, Georgia.
Pallbearers will be members of the Fraternal Order of Police.
