Vanessa Nadine Hill, age 85, of Lexington, went to be with her Lord on Sunday August 16, 2009.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 18, 2009 at 2 pm in the chapel of Elkins East Chapel in Center Star. Gary Webster will officiate. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday August 17, 2009 from 6 pm until 9 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hill faithfully attended church and served in different areas for the ministry of God''s Kingdom. She was happiest when planning and cooking meals for her family and friends. Mrs. Hill also planned play times for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and joined in the fun. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Buford "Boots" Hill, and infant daughter, and two brothers, Cordell and Verdo Liverett.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughters, Kay Hatton and husband Terrell and Pam Hatton and husband Milton, both of Russellville; her sons, James Joel Hill and wife Linda, Ronald Hill and wife Nadine, and Waylon Hill and wife Diane, all of Lexington; her sister, Dora Ben Grisham and husband Bob of Rogersville; her brother, Johnny Liverett and wife Oletha of Rogersville; 26 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hill''s grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. The pallbearers are Eric, Denny, David, Daniel, Derrick, Brent, Scotty, and Chad. Honorary pallbearers are Frankie, Sammy, Jamey, Josh, Justin, and Tim.
Mrs. Hill is also survived by her granddaughters, Suzanne, Christy, Trisha, Summer, Autumn, Angie, Tina, and Kimberly.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice and to Summer Green for the professional care that she so lovingly and willingly gave to her Mawmaw Hill.
