Nellie Faye Williams McMeans Burton, 83, of Lexington died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at ECM Hospital.

Visitation will be Friday, August 14, 2015, at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence from 1-2 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the chapel with Bro. Danny Pettus officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Burton was born in Lexington, Alabama and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1969. She moved back to Lexington to take care of her parents, aunts, and uncles. She was a lifelong member of Lexington Church of Christ.

Mrs. Burton is survived by a daughter, Paula McMeans Scales; son, Michael Todd McMeans; granddaughter, Lucy Scales; cousins, Jane Smith and Jeffrey Hammond; and numerous other cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, W. E. "Gene" McMeans, 2nd husband, John Burton; parents, aunts, uncles, and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Hammond, Bobby Smith, Alan Newton, Curtis Liverett, Dick Reed, and Charlie Waldrop.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude''s Children''s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
