Nessie Christine Ellis, age 81, of Rogersville, passed away on Friday December 19, 2008 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 22, 2008 at 11 am at New Hope Baptist Church with Bro. James Waddell and Bro Audie Bogus officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday December 21, 2008 from 2 pm until 4 pm at Elkins East Chapel.
Mrs. Ellis is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mattie Richardson, two brothers, and two sisters. She was a resident of Countryside Nursing Home in Lawrence burg, Tennessee and a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Rogersville.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her husband, James Winford Ellis; her daughters, Mary Ann Herston-Holden(Rick), and Brenda White(Mike); her son, Jimmy Ellis(Glendora); her brother, James Richardson(Louise); her grandchildren, Tony Herston(Jackie), Salena Collier(Tim), Scottie Herston, and Stephanie Sullivan(Robert); her great grandchildren, Phillip Collier, Bethany Collier, Samantha Herston, Emileigh Herston, Colin Sullivan, and Charlize Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike White, Tim Collier, Phillip Collier, Rick Holden, Tony Herston, and Marshall Lovelace. Honorary pallbearer will be Scottie Herston.
