Nolan Brooks Gibson, Jr., 59, of Florence, passed away Wednesday morning.
The visitation will be Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Elkins Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Mike Pope will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Nolan was a graduate of Coffee High School and attended UNA. He loved all sports, especially golf, tennis and Alabama football. He made friends wherever he went and had enjoyed many since childhood. He was preceded in death by his father, N.B. Gibson, Sr.
Nolan will be greatly missed by his loving family including his mother Ivanell Roberts Gibson of Florence; a sister Linda May of Florence; nieces Amy May Southerland and husband David of Pottersville, New Jersey and Becky May of Florence; great niece and nephew Lucy and Maddox, aunts and several cousins. Pallbearers will be Jamiel Saliba, Kenny Roberts, Russell Whittle, Kevin Boatwright, Tom Aragon and Kenny Hiller. Honorary bearers will be Mike Carter, Gary Jester, Johnny Gooch and John McCrory.
