Funeral for Obie Mitchell, 82, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Becker officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be three hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Mitchell, who died on Saturday, April 20, 2013, was born on September 5, 1931, in Colbert Co.

Mr. Mitchell and his late wife, Katherine ran a tree service in Decatur for 40 years and a used furniture store for 20 years.

He is survived by his five children; Ann Milligan (Dale), Bobby Mitchell (Amy), Dean Mitchell (Pam), Wayne Mitchell, and Debbie Cheatham (Gary); one stepson, Steve Pope (Susan); 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Brown.
