Anita Daly of Decatur died January 10, 2024 at Riverside Assisted Living. She was born to the late William Noble and Lou Ella Headricks Daly at Prospect, Tn. Anita grew up at Elkmont, Al and was a resident of Decatur, Al. She graduated from Elkmont High School , valedictorian of her class, and attended Calhoun Community College. She retired from the US Department of the Army(MICOM/MSIC) Redstone Arsenal, Al , where she received numerous awards and commendations. Anita was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church( Pettusville, then Ninth Street and Austinville in Decatur). She was preceded in death by siblings: Virginia College, John Daly, Billy Daly, Sue Aycock, Joe Daly, Weaver Jane Powers, Martha Daly , Peggy Ghee, Jerry Daly and Jerome Daly. Anita is survived by sisters Wilma Austin of Athens and Betty
Willis of Elkmont, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral will be at Ridout's Brown Service Funeral Home Saturday January 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery Athens, Al. Memorials may be made to Austinville Methodist Church or Hospice of the Valley .
