Mrs. Brenda Jane Marks, age 67 of Florence, passed away on December 31, 2025 at her home. Services will be held at Elkins Funeral Home in Florence on January 5, 2026 beginning at 1pm. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm. Burial will immediately follow the services at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Marks is survived by her children, April Wright, Robert Rodgers, Eric Marks, and Wendy Jackson; grandchildren, Milaya Marks, Cheyene Kelley, Jackson Reatherford, Krista Looney, Kara Marks, Kayley Marks, Trey Rodgers (Rebecca), Anna Wright and Molly Wright; siblings, Ed Bates, Paul Bates, Tommy Bates, Barbara Clemmons, and Connie Meadows; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Terry Miles Marks; parents George W. Bates Sr. And Virtie P. Bates; and siblings, James Bates, G.W. Bates Jr., Mearlyn Riner, Randy Bates; grandson, Remington Gage Marks; and son-in-law, Matt Wright.
Mrs. Marks was a kind, caring woman that loved helping others. She was an avid Alabama Football fan. You could always catch her at home in sweatpants and an Alabama Football t-shirt. She enjoyed cooking and especially enjoyed being around and caring for her grandchildren.
