Bro. Charles Kretzer, age 89 of Killen, passed away at Mitchell-Hollingsworth on August 22, 2024. Services for Bro. Kretzer will be private, immediate family only.

Bro. Kretzer was a kind, caring gentleman and a loving daddy and granddaddy. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Swinea; grandchildren, Michael Swinea (Stephaine), Amanda Swinea, Alissa Swinea, Victoria Swinea, Bentley Kretzer, Jordan Kretzer, Matthew Kretzer; and daughter-in-law, Kim Kretzer. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lou Kretzer; son, Phillip Kretzer; parents, Fred Kretzer and Edna Caroline Dotson Kretzer; and his brothers and sisters.

The family would like to give special thanks to Charles E and Ann Hester for the care they gave to Bro. Kretzer through the years; the nurses at Mitchell-Hollingsworth that took great care of him; Danny Pettus and Tim Grigsby for their many visits; and Taylor Rowe, Bro. Kretzer's hospice nurse.

In lieu of flowers, the family request the donations be made to the Florence-Lauderdale Animal Shelter.
