Mr. Charles "Bud" Hendon, age 92 of Florence, passed away on October 16, 2024. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Monday, October 21 at the Elkins Funeral Home in Florence beginning at 1pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 12pm.

Mr. Hendon was an avid walker and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He played baseball and softball for most of his life and was a member of the Golden Gloves Boxing team. He was also a huge Alabama football fan.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Hendon; parents, Harold and Elsie Kelly Hendon; and a granddaughter, Jeannine Hendon. He is survived by his son, David Hendon (Pam); grandson, Corey Hendon (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Casey and Coraline; brother, Bobby Hendon (Margaret); and numerous nieces and nephews.
