Charles Enloe Moore, born April 16, 1931, departed this life on July 9, 2024 at 93 years of age; he is survived by his wife, Berniece Kasmeier Moore; step daughter, Kim Kasmeier; sister in law, Joyce Moore of Cleveland, Ohio;nephew, Enloe Moore of Fort Smith, South Carolina, and niece, Susan Higgins of Chino, Arizona.
Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Eliza Southall Moore; his parents, Fred Moore, Sr. and Margaret Shinglar Moore; and by his brothers, William Moore and Fred Moore, Jr.
Charles graduated from Coffee High School in Florence; attended Florence State College/University of North Alabama for 2 years, and transferred to Auburn University where he graduated.
Charles was the city archaeologist, an author, and finance manager with A.G. Edwards & Sons in Florence, Alabama; he received numerous awards for his Native American artifact/relic collections, and he was a recipient of the Shoals Citizen of the Year Award.
Charles was a member of Cross Point Church of Christ in Florence where his favorite meeting group was The Joy Class. Charles also continued to attend services at the First United Methodist Church in Florence, where he worshiped with his family as a child.
Charles' memorial service will be Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Elkins' Funeral Home, 1535 Hermitage Drive in Florence, Alabama. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by the funeral at 2:30 p.m., officiated by Mark Sain and Frank Mills. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
