Mr. Chester Louis Chapman, of Killen died June 10, 2025, at his residence. He lived in the Killen area for 39 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Phyllis Wallace Chapman; children, Renee Benefield (Keith), Veronica Keeton (Wayne), Melanie Argueta, Carmen Brown (Jamey), Timothy Chapman (Terry); ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren plus one on the way.

He was preceded by his parents, Burton Lee and Aline True Bassham Chapman; brothers, Clayton, Royce, Clyde, Jerry, and Leon Chapman; sisters, Clara Gatlin and Jean Henson.

Mr. Chapman retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service. Mail Carrier at the US Postal Service for 15 years. His first job was at the Florence Herald Newspaper. He was a volunteer tax preparer with AARP at the Florence Library for 20 years.

He had a BS in Finance with a minor in Computer Science.

A memorial service to honor his life will be Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 3 PM at Elkins East Chapel with full military honors.
