Dorothy Light Neher 1948-2025:

Dorothy Light Neher passed away March 18, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital following a two- month illness.She was buried following a private service, Sunday, March 23rd at Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Neher was the daughter of Clifton and Drucilla Light of the Union Hill Community in Morgan County. She was a 1967 graduate of Union Hill High School. She attended Calhoun Community College and later earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg and Converse College, respectively.Over her career she taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grade – six years in South Carolina and eighteen in the Decatur City system.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Bonnie Layne; and daughter Cynthia Faye Neher. Survivors include her husband, Gerald; son, Jason Neherand grandchildren, Ezra Neher and Ginny Neher of Winder, GA; brother, Curtis Light of Knoxville, TN; andniece, Cheryl Howell of Athens.

The family requests any memorials to be addressed to the Decatur-Morgan Hospital Foundation.
