Mr. Gene Jackson, age 78 of Florence, passed away on February 17, 2026. Visitation will be held at Elkins Funeral Home in Florence on Friday, February 20 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Services will be held the following morning at 10:00am in the Elkins Funeral Home chapel. Burial will immediately follow the services at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Jackson was a wonderful father and wanted to make sure that everyone felt loved and welcomed. He was an avid music listener and enjoyed drinking coffee. He loved being outdoors camping or just enjoying a great walk.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his children, Jennifer Viall (Brad), Jacqueline Beirne (Kevin), and Jason Jackson; grandchildren, Jackson Viall (Kayla), Kaitlyn Viall House (Garrett), and Austin Viall, Ruairi Beirne, Lauren Beirne, and  Elizabeth Beirne; great-grandchild, Grady Viall; several nieces, nephews and extended family members; and special caregiver, M.J.

He is preceded by his wife, Kathy Jackson; parents, Archie and Gladys Jackson; and siblings, Junior Jackson, Shirley Holt.
