Hillman Douglas Ledbetter, 85, of Decatur will have a visitation on Thursday February 9, 2023 at Ridout's Brown-Service funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:30PM and a funeral service on Friday February 10, 2023 in the Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Eddy Joe Tierce officiating and the burial will be at Napps cemetery.
Mr. Ledbetter was a First class private in the Marines from 1956 until 1962. He went to work as a drafting illustrator for Boeing until 1970, then started a new career with the Decatur fire department and retired with 25 years of service in 2000. He is preceded in death by his parents John Hillman Ledbetter and Maude Elizabeth Ledbetter, sister's Wynell Herndon, Evelyn Earwood, brothers Ira Joe Ledbetter , W.L. Ledbetter.
He is survived by his wife Linda Townsend Ledbetter, Son Brent Ledbetter, Two Grandsons Peyton Barnes, Randell Hill. He also has 25 Nieces and Nephews, Sister Betty Davis.
Pallbearers Gauge Galbreath, Tony Galbreath, Peyton Barnes, Bentley Parson, Ronald Ledbetter, Joe Ledbetter, Todd Herndon, Judd Herndon. Honorary pallbearers Smitty Smith, Decatur Fire Fighters.
