IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Robert
Thrasher
April 6, 1952 – February 10, 2025
James Robert Thrasher
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 14th, at Rideout Brown's Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 PM and the service at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Aaron Kretzschmar presiding. Interment will follow at Johnson's Chapel.
Mr. Thrasher passed away on Monday, surrounded by family and friends. He was born to Virginia Nadine Thrasher and Alton Elbert Thrasher on April 6, 1952, in Huntsville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Thrasher, and his son, Robert J. Thrasher.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise K. Thrasher; his mother, Nadine Thrasher; brothers, Tommy Thrasher and Alton Thrasher; sons, James Thrasher (Jen) and Michael Thrasher; and his granddaughters, Mary Cathren Keen (Brent) and Jamie Thrasher.
James was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, served as a dedicated firefighter for 28 years in Decatur. He was also a TSA agent and a master carpenter. He loved Alabama football, golf, fishing, and, most of all, his family. He was extremely proud of his sons and dearly loved his granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation are appreciated.
