Mr. Joshua "Jack" Hayes, age 27 of Harvest, passed away on Tuesday, April 2 in Birmingham, AL. Memorial services in his honor will be held at Ridout's- Brown Service Funeral Home in Decatur on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 3 pm with Pastor David Tubbs officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Ridout's- Brown Service Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Jack was a skilled musician. He played trumpet, french horn, and violin. He began playing violin when he was 3 or 4 and continued to play throughout his life, including years playing with the Huntsville Youth Orchestra. He played trumpet and french horn with the East Limestone marching and concert bands. From a young age he was always fascinated by people in uniform. Jack was very eager and loved being a part of the Young Marines of Huntsville. He enjoyed watching movies. His family has fond memories of listening to him quote the dialog from his favorite movie scenes. Jack also enjoyed the outdoors. He and his family used to take camping trips in late fall. His favorite candy was Reese's Cups. He traveled with groups for concerts and worked security for them.

Jack was a man of many talents, interests and hobbies. His memory will live on and be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Jack is preceded in death by Marcia Wright-Cox. He is survived by Bob & Jeanne Hayes, Jason Helms, Christina Wright, Brianna Rutherford, Tanya Smith, Zachary Hayes, Hannah Hayes, and Jewel Helms.
