Funeral for Murry Joe Woodard, 81, of  Decatur will be on Wednesday July 31, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Westmeade Baptist Church with Pastor Scotty Hogan and Pastor Justin McAlpin officiating. Burial will be at Decatur City Cemetery and the family will have a visitation from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church.

Mr. Woodard who died on July 26, 2024 was born on February 2, 1943 in Moulton , Alabama to Tom and Louida Woodard. He was preceded in death by his wife Bobbie of 54 years , and his sister Tommy Faye Pugh.

He is survived by his son Jeff  Woodard and wife Natalie, daughter Melissa Roberts and husband Dennis, sister Betty Stephenson, grandchildren Nicholas Sloan, Sloane  Mulligan and husband Cameron, Abby Woodard, Lucas Roberts, Shelby, Skylar and Landon Woolwine. Great grandsons Steel and Duke Mulligan.

Pallbearers will be Lucas Roberts, Nicholas Sloan, Cameron Mulligan, Mark Brazelton, JF Stephenson and Mike Pugh.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Naveen Lobo, his excellent staff as well as Karina Schrimer and the wonderful people at Hospice of the Valley. The family requested  donations  to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in honor of  Mac Pugh and Hospice of the Valley.
