Shirley Bedingfield Forton, 89, died on Monday, January 6, 2025 in Titusville, Florida. Her services will be held at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM followed by a recitation of the Rosary at 11:30 AM and a Funeral Mass at noon with Father Charles Deering officiating.

Shirley is survived by three daughters Cindy Marks and Denyse Forton of Decatur, and Lynn Lee (Phillip) of Harvest, two sons, Bruce Forton of Titusville, Florida and Joe Forton (Kathy) of Decatur, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great, great grandson.  Additionally, she is survived by two sisters, Gayle Hall (Harry) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Becky Bedingfield of Mobile, sister-in-law Lorraine Bedingfield of San Antonio, Texas, two brothers, Butch Bedingfield (Juanita) of Pearl, Mississippi and Joe Bedingfield of Mobile.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Patrick Forton, son Dale Forton and grandson Cody Forton.  Shirley was born in Rogersville, Alabama on July 12, 1935 to Egbert and Minnie Cosby Bedingfield.  In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Jeanette Williams, and four brothers, Jimmie Bedingfield, Jerry Bedingfield, Danny Bedingfield and Bo Bedingfield.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Ann's School Education Foundation.
