Funeral for Ollie Street, 85, of Decatur will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home with his niece, the Rev. Carol Goforth officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Street, who died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Morgan County to Eli and Agnes Lula Street. Mr. Street served his country during WWII as a staff sergeant in the European Theatre in France, Belgium and Germany. Among his many medals, he earned a Bronze Star for his service. In his private life, he was employed by Wolverine Tube for 25 years and retired from Valley Products after 20 years of service. Mr. Street was preceded in death by his son, Charles "Andy" Street; four sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Cora Lou Street; one son, Michael Street and wife, Michelle, of Decatur; one daughter, Sue Bolden and husband, Ray, of Birmingham; one sister, Dody Goforth and husband P.C., of Decatur; three grandsons, Eli Street and wife, Kim, Brett Bolden and Blake Bolden; two granddaughters, Carrie Keil and husband, Matt, and Chelsey Street; and one great grandchild, Cade Brown. Pallbearers will be Doug Street, Eli Street, Brett Bolden, Blake Bolden, Matt Keil, and Billy Charles. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Williams and Allen Petty.
