Funeral for Onnie Wendell Wallace, 74, of Decatur will be Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's BrownService Funeral Home with Ron Manly officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the fu-neral home. Mr. Wallace, who died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Law-rence County to Veto Wal-lace and Lula Mae Hitt Wal-lace. He was the owner and operator of Wallace Stand-ard Service Station and Wal-lace Trucking and later, Wallace Food Mart on Old Moulton Road. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the National Defense Service and the Army of Occupation, receiving medals from both branches. Mr. Wallace loved to trade animals and spend time at Trade Day. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bettie Wallace; three sons, Buddy Wallace of Venice Beach, Calif., Jimmy Wallace of Decatur and Jus-tin Wallace and wife, Nita, of Gardendale; one daughter, Gayle Hill and husband, Lu-ther, of Priceville; two broth-ers, Burl Wallace and wife, Winnie, and Junior "Shorty" and wife, Tammy, all of Trinity; four sisters, Violene Mizell of Trinity, Betty June Tenover of Cincinnati, Ohio, Vivian Kent of Decatur and Naomia Terry of Trinity; and five grandchildren.
