Funeral for Opal Marie Jackson, 65, of Decatur will be Monday, March 31, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation Monday from noon until 2. Mrs. Jackson, who died Thursday, March 27, 2008, was born in 1942 to Dennis Melson and Mamie Melson Brackens. Three children preceded her in death. Survivors include her children, Donna Jackson, Jessie Jackson and Mary Robbins; her mother and stepfather; brother, Billy Melson; seven sisters, Flora Russell, Joyce Lang, Shirley Hamilton, Diann Burruss, Carolyn Patruzzo, Linda Thrasher and Vicki Dagon; and seven grandchildren.
