Opal Birdsong Terry Decatur
Graveside service for Opal Birdsong Terry, 85, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Hurt of First Baptist Church officiating.
Mrs. Terry, who died Thursday, April 28, 2011, in Decatur, was born December 1, 1925, in Prospect, Giles County, Tennessee to the late Newt and Grace Whitlock Birdsong. Mrs. Terry lived in Decatur most of her adult life as a homemaker. She and her husband owned the Terry Grocery Store on Church St. years ago. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hurley Terry; son, Donnie Terry; brother, Thomas William Birdsong; sisters, Ann Wasiewicz, Judith Smith and Charlotte Lake.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Sheron James Terry of Decatur; grandson, Donnie Lynn Terry of Huntsville; brother, Charles Birdsong and wife, Jean, of Memphis; several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends
