Mr. Oron C. "Shine" Springer, 83, of Rogersville passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Glenwood Healthcare. The visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel with Bro. Keith Hawk officiating. Burial will follow in the Harvey Cemetery. Mr. Springer was a veteran of the Korean War, a Reynolds retiree and a member of the Whitehead Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Peggy Grisham Springer; a son Mark Springer and wife Sandy; daughter Sheila Surles and husband Jim; grandchildren Nicholas Surles, Joanna Surles and Jacob Springer; brothers Billy Springer and Duel Springer; sisters Doris Rhee Springer and Linda Thigpen. Pallbearers will be Randy Springer, Sammy Springer, Mike Nash, Jimmy White, Petey Grisham and Lee Butler. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Mann for many years of compassionate medical care and the nurses and staff at Glenwood Healthcare. We love you all.
