Pamela Ann Facet Barrett

Landersville -- Charles Nathaniel Barrett and Pamela Ann Facey were married December 20, 1952, and shared a love-filled life together for 63 years.

Charles owned the family cattle farm, served in the United States Air Force as an auto mechanic, and worked 30 years at Monsanto. For nearly 30 years after retiring, Charles worked as a groundskeeper and maintenance man at Moulton Baptist Church.

At age 56, Pam accomplished her life-long dream to be a nurse and earned her LPN certificate and graduated at the top of her class. During her 20 years as a nurse, Pam worked at NHC Health Care in Moulton, provided hospice care, and was a school nurse in Lawrence County.

The Barretts' love of the Lord was evident in every moment of their lives. Pam and Charles were beautiful examples of discipleship. Since 1956, they gave decades of service at Moulton Baptist Church. Pam was the pre-school director and coordinator for the day care center. She was a Mission Friends leader, founder of the knitting ministry, co-chair of the Caring Committee, an active member of WMU, an Upward Sports volunteer and she traveled on youth mission trips. Charles always said "make yourself available" and lived his words as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, a teacher in the jail ministry, and past Brotherhood president. Together Charles and Pam served on the Faith Team and offered weekly community visitations. They gave tirelessly in stateside mission trips to share the good news of Christ and helped those in need. In the 1980's, they served briefly at Old Town Creek Baptist Church in order to help stabilize and grow the church. In 1994, Charles and Pam began their ministry as international missionaries in Albania, the Czech Republic, the Virgin Islands, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

Charles, was born June 27, 1930, on the family farm in Landersville, Alabama. He was the son of the late Emma Josephine Sandlin Barrett and Jesse James Barrett; and brother of the late James Fennel Barrett (Christine Barrett).

Pamela, was born August 25, 1934, in Ramsgate, Kent, England. She was the daughter of the late Vera Marion Facey and George Walter Enoch Facey; and sister of the late Roderick Facey (Dot Facey); and precedes brothers Richard Facey (Gaye Facey), Ian Facey (Sally Facey) and William Facey.

Charles and Pam were the loving and beloved parents of Janice Barrett, Sandra Kay Barrett Hoomani (Jason Hoomani), Jo Dumas (Tony Dumas), and Heather Barrett Tidwell (Chuck Tidwell). They were Gran and Grandad to their grandchildren Jenny Thompson, Michael Wadkins (Emily Whitlow Wadkins), Lauren Choate (Solomon Choate), Jamie Wadkins, Taylor Moore, Brianna Wadkins, Wes Tidwell, Will Tidwell, Kirsten Dumas; and great- grandchildren, Isaiah Thompson, Emma Wadkins, Ty Hill, Caileigh Choate, Caden Choate, Kaydee Glaze, and Colin Choate. Their beloved dog Bess joins them in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lottie Moon - International Mission Board to continue Pam and Charles' life work to bring people to Christ.
