Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Elaine Dillard Terry, 65, went home to her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, after an extended illness. The viewing, funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Moulton with Bro. Rod Morgan presiding. The viewing will be held at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. and the burial at Moulton City Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. Eilliott Funeral Home is directing. Pat was born Aug. 5, 1944, in Greensboro, N.C., to Elbird C. and Marcia Bierd Dillard, whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Joseph "Joe" A. Terry; two sons, Patrick D. Terry (Patsy) of Moulton and Matthew A. Terry (Dixie) of Troy; sister, Suzan D. Mahan (Don) of South Riding, Va.; brother, Phillip C. Dillard (Tina) of Trussville; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Also, her special family of Goosebay, Labrador classmates. Grandchildren are Hannah Terry of Trinity, Mya and Alyssa Terry of Troy, Misty Burns of Tuscumbia and Collin Burns of Moulton; and great-grandchildren Morgan and Hayvn of Tuscumbia and Landin of Moulton. Pallbearers will be Collins Burns, Greg Terry, David Terry, Justin Terry, David Gregory and Shane Lindsey. Pat was raised in a military family, where traveling became a passion and one of her greatest joys. She loved her family, her friends and singing in the traveling and church choir. Pat graduated from The University of Alabama School of Nursing in 1965 and devoted over 40 years to showing care and compassion to the community. She was a loving individual who always found good in everyone. Pat greeted each with a smile that warmed you and brightened your day, the way the sun''s rays sparkle and brighten the horizon on a clear crisp morning. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First United Methodist Church, 14595 Market Street, Moulton, AL 35650.
