Funeral Home with
Brother Rick Gilley officiating.
Burial will be in Providence
Cemetery. Visitation
will be tonight from 6 to 8 at
the funeral home.
Mrs Burney died Friday,
July 14, 2017 at Lawrence
Medical Center. She was
born May 13, 1952 in Athens
to Charlie and Jessie Bell
Brooks. She was preceded
in death by her brother, Bill
Brooks; and sister, Margie
Thomas.
Survivors include her
husband, Philip Burney;
son, Larry Joe Appleton Jr.
and wife, Barbara; three
sisters, Mary Jane Brooks,
Mattie Pennington and
Faye Parker; one grandson,
Blake Williams; and two
great-grandchildren, Sumi
and Bo Williams.
