PATSY S. TERRY
Patsy Smith Terry, 74, of Moulton passed away Sunday surrounded by loving family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wyckoff, her son Todd Terry of Huntsville, her daughter Suzanne and son-in-law Jim Cunningham of Florence, granddaughters Reagan and Ruby Cunningham of Florence, and brother Jack Smith of Auburn.
Patsy was born in 1937 in Mt. Hope to Ruby and Franklin Smith, who later gained notoriety as one of Lawrence County's most legendary Sheriffs. Early in her career Patsy worked as a secretary for Werner von Braun's rocket team in Huntsville, before leaving Redstone Arsenal to raise her children. Later, she spent 15 years as the secretary at Moulton Baptist Church, where she was also a devoted member of the Yvonne Sunday School class.
Most valued to Patsy was her close circle of friends and neighbors whom she considered her extended family.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Moulton Baptist Church, with Revs. Tim Lovett and Jesse Reeder officiating, with music and remembrances by Revs. Tommy Pierce and Keith Guyton. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 until 9 at Elliott Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Clinton Hardin, Jim Cunningham, Ed Gonzales, Billy Suggs, Ron Robertson, Bill Terry, Bobby Terry, Lanier Sibley, Jimmy Mitchell and Marvin Terry.
