Obituary

Funeral for Peggy Eliza Chapman, 89, From Hartselle, Alabama. Will be Thursday, January 16 at 1:00 at the Chapel at Ridout's Brown-Service Chapel with Greg Lee Officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM  at Ridout's Brown Funeral Home and Burial will be at Roselawn cemetery.
Peggy was born on March 29, 1935 in Morgan County to Elbert Peebles and Naomi Jinks Peebles and passed away January 7, 2025 at her residence.

Peggy was a hardworking and accomplished individual, proudly owning and operating Peggy's Upholstery for over 30 years. A master of her craft, she took immense pride in her work, transforming countless pieces with her talent and eye for detail. People from all over, took notice of her craftsmanship and would have furniture shipped from all over the US for her to upholster. She was also a dedicated member of West Hartselle Baptist Church, where her faith and love for her community shone brightly. As a Lifetime Member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 52, she served two terms as President, demonstrating her commitment to service and leadership. Peggy was full of life and fiercely independent, always putting others before herself through acts of kindness and volunteer work. She had a vibrant personality that was both classy and witty, with a sense of humor that left everyone smiling. Peggy had a great sense of fashion and a smile that could light up any room, paired with a contagious positive outlook that inspired those around her. She loved traveling and embraced the opportunity to learn about the world. She enjoyed dancing, puzzles, and Wheel of Fortune. A fan of true crime movies and books, she enjoyed diving into stories that intrigued her inquisitive mind. Her legacy is one of grace, talent, and love, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her six brothers and three sisters, as well as her grandson, Robert (Robbie) Funk.

She is survived by her children: Wayne Chapman (Sue), Lillie Chapman
Kennedy, and Millie Patterson. Peggy was also a devoted grandparent to Anisa Threadgill (Eric), Starr Carter (Clay), Elbert Chapman (Rachel), YeVonne Brown (Alex), Kristan Funk, and Amber Pline (Ian). Great grandchildren: Cal Threadgill, Austin Threadgill, Kelsie Chapman, Ellie Chapman, Maddie Chapman, Harper Johnson, Richlyn Carter, Dilynn Brown, Prestyn Brown, Atlas Pline.

Pallbearers will be Elbert Chapman, Clay Carter, Alex Brown, Ian Pline, Carl (Chris) Peebles, Jerry (Dewayne) Skipworth.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to your local American
Legion Auxiliary.
