Mrs. Peggy Irions Williams, 76, of Florence, passed away on February 4, 2010. Her family will receive friends at Elkins Funeral Home, Saturday, February 6, from 1-3 pm. The funeral will be in the funeral home chapel at 3pm with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Sherrod Valley Cemetery.
Peggy was proud to have a Native American Ancestry with the Echota Cherokee Tribe. She loved her dogs, including her favorite, Peaches. Peggy enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful grandmother. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Irions and Effie Mae Joiner; brother, Phillip Irions; sister, Patsy Willcutt; and her husband of 54 years, Willie N. Williams.
She is survived by her son, Keith Williams (Teressa); daughters, Patti Jackson (Mike), and Lori Williams; sister, Vera Bentley; grandchildren, Michaela Jackson, Shane (Sophia), Heath (Lynette), and Kyle (April) Wood, Amber Baskins (John), Mark Goodman (Julie), Jake Gardiner, and Adam Williams; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Savana, Jackson, Jaylee, Eli, Aiden, and twin boys due in may; numerous nieces and nephews; and her pets, Ben, and Peaches.
Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
