Quention Earl Hogan "Big Q", 86, of Florence died Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Floyd "Tut" Fann Veterans Home in Huntsville. The visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025, 10 AM to 12 PM at Elkins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12 PM in the chapel with Bro. Vance Hutton and Bro. Chris Kemp officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with military honors.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Judy Harp Hogan; parents, W.J. and Renee Dodd Hogan; siblings, Bill Hogan, Polly Underwood, Huey Hogan, and Margaret Batchelor.
Mr. Hogan is survived by his children, Angie McClure (Robert), Steve Hogan (Teresa), and Stan Hogan (Alison); grandchildren, Rachel McClure, Allison Haithcock, Kyle Hogan, Kirsten Stutts, Ashley Brown, Keith Hogan, Blake Hogan, and Ben Hogan; great-grandchildren, 16; brother, James Leo Hogan; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hogan was a lifelong member of the church of Christ. He was a member of the IBEW Local #558 for 55 years. He retired from Reynolds Metals Company as an electrician. Then he worked at Redstone Arsenal as an electrician until 2003. He loved gardening and going to see his grandchildren play sports. He served in the US Navy stationed aboard the USS Henrico and supported Nuclear Atomic Bomb Testing in the South Pacific.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and grandsons-in law.
