Ralph Emerson Saunders, 74, passed away September 9, 2019 in the comfort of his home.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Karen, of 52 years, sons Russell Saunders, Kenneth (Martin) Saunders, daughter Sheila (James) Jones, grandson Luke Jones, sister Shirley (Jim) Dickmeyer, brothers Greg (Sherrie) Saunders, Steve (Linda) Saunders, and Douglas "Skip" (Cathy) Saunders. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Anne Saunders, of Ringo's Mills, Kentucky, his brothers Ricky Saunders, Randy Saunders, Paul Saunders, and his nephews Tommy Allen and Justin Saunders.

Ralph served two terms in Vietnam in the US Navy and operated his business, Saunders' Manufacturing, out of Iron City, TN and Rogersville, AL. When he was able, he loved to spend his time traveling, camping, playing golf with his friends, spending time on the river on his boat, and playing chess with his grandson, Luke.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 on Sunday, September 15, at Elkins East Funeral Home, Killen, AL. A memorial service will follow at 2.
