Raymond Martin's Obituary
Raymond Martin age 97 of Florence passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 6 from 9:30-10:30am at Elkins Funeral Home. The service will follow at 10am at Elkins Chapel. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 7 in Rockwood, TN.
Mr. Martin was born in Rockwood, TN on November 14, 1917. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Belle Garrett Martin and wife, Mary Kathryn Martin.
He is survived by his sons, Lyn Martin of Florence, Mike Martin (Kristie) of Sheffield; grandson, Brett Martin(Meghan) of Florence; granddaughter, Katie Hanback (Bronson); and two great grandsons, Brockton and Brecken Hanback, all of Florence.
Mr. Martin proudly served his country from 1941-1945 in the South Pacific. He remained active in the VFW & American Legion
throughout his life. He was employed with TVA and he retired in 1982, after 46 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Florence where he served as deacon and elder.
The family would like to express special thanks to all of his caregivers and to his loving friend, Peggy Kline.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Florence or Shriners Hospital.
