It is with profound sadness that the family of Mrs. Reba Louise Young announced her peaceful passing at home on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the age of 91. She was born February 3, 1932 to Claude and Goldie Palmer. Graveside services will be held at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery on Friday, February 10th at 1PM.

Mrs. Young grew up in Florence, Alabama and was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many. She was a substitute teacher, worked at a local doctors office and was the curator of the Florence Indian Mound and Museum for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, and going on adventures to find arrowheads, of which she has an extensive and beautiful collection.

Mrs. Young was very knowledgable and passionate about the Native American culture. The Rebel State Archeology Society presented her with the Lifetime Achievement Award for the conservation of Native American Artifacts in July of 2018.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, James Faye Young; two sons, James Richard (Jimmy) Young and Timothy Lee Young; parents Claude and Goldie Palmer; sister Geneva Kelley; and her brother, Ross Palmer.

She is survived by her sisters, Lila Moody; two loving grandsons, Jeffery Young (Mindy) and Jeremy Young (Whitney); mother to her two grandsons, Jessie Young; and other special relatives including her loyal, guardian companion, her dog Rolex "RoRo'.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Young, Jeremy Young, Joe McDonald, Jeff Palmer, Greg Palmer, and Billy Blasingame.
