Mr. Robert Craig "Bob" Comley, 52, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at ECM Hospital.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Student Center, Where The Point Of Our Recovery Meets, of Cross Point Church of Christ. Randy Hargett will officiate. Visitation will be there from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
Bob Comley was an uncommon man. He had remarkable abilities. He was articulate and his vocabulary was noteworthy. He had a gift for making everyone with whom he came in contact feel special. He had a keen sense of humor, and his unfailing optimism grew as his faith in God deepened. Bob was a skilled house painter, but in recent years he practiced the art of touching lives rather than mere walls. Finding Christ and experiencing His grace had a transforming effect on Bob. Upon receiving redemption, he found a deep joy and peace he had never known, and his life''s mission became sharing that joy and gratitude with family and friends at every opportunity. His fondest wish was that all would see clearly God''s love for mankind. Bob''s legacy will live on in lives stirred by a video filmed before his death in which he told his life story.
Bob is survived by his wife Janet Comley: a son Robert Comley III of Huntsville; a step-daughter Megan Bryant (Jason Knight) of Florence; a granddaughter Alana Grace Comley; a sister Ruth Kiser (Samuel) of Pittsburg, PA; and a brother Ronald Comley (Patricia) of Huntsville.
