Robert Charles Gilmore, Sr.
Bobby Gilmore, 82, of Florence died Friday, July 14, 2017, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his mother, Malrey W. Gilmore and father Sam H. Gilmore.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 22, 2017, 2-3 PM at Highland Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 3 PM with Bro. Jim Warren officiating. Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mr. Gilmore was a US Air Force veteran (Korean War) and was a retired welder for Ford Motor Company. He also has a B. S. degree from the University of North Alabama (1974). He was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Mr. Gilmore is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Wanda Springer Gilmore; daughters, Cheri Gilmore and Deena Gilmore; son, Chuck Gilmore (Marquitta); grandchildren, Dustin Heisler, Robby Gilmore (Karen), Wil Gilmore (Alison), and Ben Machtolff; sister, Mary Ann Hunt (Tommy); several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Tennessee Valley Hospice and Dr. Lyman Mitchell for the loving care provided for Bobby during his final days.
