Graveside service for Robert L. Minor, 83, of Decatur will be Thursday, September 23, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Hartselle with Dr. Terry L. Greer officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Minor, who died peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Decatur General Hospital, was born December 22, 1926, in Jefferson County to Willie Morris Minor and Cuba Atkins Minor. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Charles Hutson Minor; two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Minor served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He worked for L&N Railroad for 36 years until he retired. He loved his family and loved to travel with his daughter.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Minor; and nieces and nephews.
