Funeral service for Robert "Bob" Wheeler, 85, of Decatur will be Friday, May 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Reverend John Rutland Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
Mr. Wheeler, who died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, was born August 6, 1925, in Cullman County. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Wheeler; and son, Art Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church. He served in the Air Force during World War II and was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Wheeler; two sons, Bruce Wheeler (Nell) and Dale Wheeler (Susan); two stepsons, Larry Carroll (Janet) and Barry Carroll (Linda); 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Children's Ministries of Ninth Street United Methodist Church, 1227 6th Avenue SE, Decatur, AL 35601.
