Robert Clark Womble Jr. age 88 of Florence passed away Wednesday May 28, 2014. Visitation will be Friday May 30, from 2:00 P.M. till 3:00 P.M. at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence with services at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel with Ellis Coats officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Womble is preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Womble, son, Terry Womble, grandson, Jason Womble, Sister, Margaret Isley, and two brothers, L.B. Womble and Brigadier General Columbus "Buck" Womble.

Robert is survived by two daughters; Sharon Womble Winter and Nancy Womble Duplissey. Three sisters; Dorothy Woods, Ruby Hanback and Faye Davis. Six grandchildren; Nicki Winter Conlon, Kim Winter, Kenny Winter Jr., Chris Bolden, Justin Bolden, and Wayne Womble. Twelve great-grandchildren. And Kitty Womble- mother of Robert''s Children.

Robert served our Nation during World War II in the 2nd Div 23rd Inf Co A, as Staff Sargent during the Battle of the Bulge receiving a Purple Heart, Victory Medal, Good conduct and a Honorable Discharge. He was a member of Oakland Church of Christ.
