MRS. RUBY MAE BEAVERS
Mrs. Ruby Mae Beavers, 85, of Florence, formerly of Lexington, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009. Her family will receive friends at Elkins East Chapel Monday, August 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Barnett Cemetery at 1 p.m. with Robert Huffaker officiating.
Mrs. Beavers was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William L. Beavers; two infants; parents A.I. and Mary Ann Brewer; four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her sons Charles Beavers (Jean Ann), and Robert Beavers (Charlotte) both of Lexington; daughters, Betty Barclay (Jimmy) of Rogersville, and Carolyn James (Danny) of Florence; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Thigpen; grandchildren, Jeff Barclay (Lee), Barbie Kennedy, Steven Beavers, Tina Hendrix (Jeff), Kim Hunt (Buddy), Lori James, Leigh Ann Downs (Jeff), Lisa Willis (Donny), Jennifer Cosby (Brent), Chris James (Kayla), and Randy Beavers; great grandchildren, Jessica Jackson, Ryan and Haley Barclay, Chelsea Smith, Kaitlyn and Jacob Hendrix, Collin and Madelyn Downs, Devan and Darby Willis, Ella Grace and Riley Cosby, and Emma and Anna James; sisters, Reba Holden, Flora Boyd, Faye Barnett; and brother, Wayne Brewer.
Maw Maw loved gardening, cooking, and quilting. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring for her family. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Barclay, Steven Beavers, Chris James, Ryan Barclay, Clayton and Chase Hunt. The family would like to give a special thanks to Cathy, Heather, Jeff, Cynthia, Norma, and Lisa of Hospice of the Shoals.
