Funeral for Ruby P. Dunnivant, 96, of Decatur will be Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Alan Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Dunnivant, who died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, was born June 22, 1911, in Limestone County to Oscar Thomas and Kate Newly Thomas. She was a member of Grant Street Church of Christ. Survivors include nine nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and neighbors. Pallbearers will be Ottie Akers, Glenn Holmes, Damon Ligon, J.B. Ligon, Michael Sebren and John Callaway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Piedmont Chapter of Hospice, Charlotte, Va.
