Funeral services for Ruby Evelyn Ferguson, 86, of Trinity will be Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Bro. Stephen Caudle officiating and Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Ferguson, who died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital, was born July 24, 1920, to Ester and Lula Mizell. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of 3N of Decatur General Hospital, and Dr. Neel Roberts and the doctors at Decatur Digestive Diseases for the loving and tender care given to our beloved Ruby. Our hearts are filled with sorrow, but we know that she is with our Lord and Savior this day, and that her body and mind are made whole again. As her friends, young and old, at church would say, "she always had a smile on her face for everyone". She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Henry Mizell, Denson Mizell, Bonard Mizell and C.V. Mizell; and two sisters, Lois Crawford and Sovola Smith. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Clarence Revelle Ferguson; two sons, Ronald Revelle Ferguson (Patty) of Raleigh, N.C., and Joe Denson Ferguson (Darlene) of Trinity; three grandsons, Christopher Lee Ferguson (Lisa) and Clayton Ronald Ferguson (Lisa) of Raleigh, N.C., and Jason Andrew Ferguson (Jaclyn) of Decatur; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Jean Hattery (Joe) of Moulton; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Mizell; four sisters, Earlene Plemons of Hartselle, Inez Reid of Trinity, Liddie Mae Redding of Courtland and Brenda Ivie of Decatur; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
