Russell David Hendrix, Sr., 64, of Vance, Alabama died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at UAB Hospital.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 27, 2018, 2-3 PM at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence.  A graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at Greenview Memorial Park with Jack Cunningham officiating.  Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mr. Hendrix was a high school graduate of Fruitdale High School.  He also graduated from the University of Alabama.

Mr. Hendrix is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sherri Glaister Hendrix; five sons, Russell David Hendrix, Jr., Joseph Hendrix, Timothy Hendrix, Joshua Hendrix, and Caleb Hendrix; parents, Russell and Anne Hendrix; two sisters, Teresa Schmidt and Donica Jones.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Hendrix, Caleb Hendrix, Tyler Schmidt, Christopher Schmidt, Allen Tolleth, and Will Farmer.

In lieu of flowers make donations to Compassion International in Colorado.
