Funeral service for Ruth Campbell Ault, 81, of Town Creek will be Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Bertis Ray and the Rev. Mark Wakefield officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Elliott Funeral Home. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Ault, who died Thursday, September 29, 2011, was born January 7, 1930, in Lawrence County to John Luther Campbell and Zora Elma Lansdell Campbell. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church where she served as the Sunday school secretary for a number of years. She was a 1948 graduate of Hazelwood High School and a member of the Alabama Education Association. Mrs. Ault was the secretary at Hatton Elementary for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Thelma Campbell, Clara Parker, Glenn Campbell, Mabel Patterson and Ruby Campbell; and one brother, Carl Campbell.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth R. Ault; two brothers, John Campbell and Ray Campbell, both of Town Creek; and two sisters, Joyce Moore of Montgomery and Marcilla Weems of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Roger Parker, Larry Patterson, Doug Shumake, Julian Bell, Jordan Sprinkle, Jeff Campbell and Julian Hamilton.
