Memorial service for Ruth Marie Corn, 75, of Decatur will be Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home. Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery in Houston, Texas. She was a volunteer foster grandparent and was retired from the Pascagoula, Miss., school system after 20 years of service. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Ruth Miranda and husband, Jay, of Texas and Linda Edwards and husband, Hugh, of Decatur; one brother, Verland J. Shannon of North Carolina; one sister, Wanda O. Dillard of Texas; and one granddaughter, Rachel E. McMahon of California.
