Ruth Long Hartselle
Ruth Long, age 85, of Hartselle, died Sunday October 17, 2010 at her residence.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Fanning officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Ruth Long was born on October 22, 1924 in Morgan County to Lattie and Mattie Lou McDonald. She was a lifelong member of the Neel United Methodist Church. Ruth loved her kids and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Hollis Long; her sister, Redith McDonald; and her son, Randall Arthur Long.
Mrs. Long is survived by her sons, James Roger Long and wife, Rita, and Earl Lynn Long and wife, Diane; her brother- in-law, Don Long and wife, Susan; six grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Kevin, and Curt Long, Rick Sherman, Tony Sparkman and Allen Osborn.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Long and Jonathon Long.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Alacare Hospice, especially to nurse, Becky Johnson, for the wonderful care given to their mother during her illness.
Donations may be made in honor of Ruth Long to Alacare Hospice.
