Funeral for Ruth Crymes Rowden, 86, of Decatur will be Monday, January 2, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Bobby Templin and Alan Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rowden, who died Friday, December 30, 2011, was born February 9, 1925, in Lauderdale County to William Thomas Crymes and Mary Minor Crymes. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rowden; two brothers, Sam Crymes and Harvey Crymes; and six sisters, Mitt Gresham, Ann Crymes, Nell Garrett, Gladys Williams, Ellen Whitehead and Alma Snoddy.
She is survived by one daughter, Janis Templin (Bob) of Jacksonville; three sons, Bailey Rowden of Metarie, La., Frank Rowden (Vickie) and Stephen Rowden of Decatur; four grandchildren, Bobby Templin, Susan Briley, Jennifer Earls and Jeffrey Rowden; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Garrett, Kenny Garrett, John Gresham, Jason Chandler, Pace Holdbrooks and Paul Holdbrooks.
